Good morning from my neighborhood in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam!
Every morning before heading to the office, I stop by my favorite coffee place, exchange Hellos with staff, regulars, enjoy great Vietnamese coffee while returning emails and important calls. I can literally run 90% of the company from my phone, which brings me to today’s topic.
Steve Jobs said: “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”.
Easy for Steve to say but is this possible for everyone? I sure hope so, but if we don’t at least try we are in for very long unhappy days, and who wants that? I must say that I am blessed and this has been very true for me, the truth of the matter is we all go through the same things, some good days and other days are straight from hell, but I would rather go through hell a few times in a job that I love working with people that I love and a job that is fulfilling, one thing for sure is that I never wake up thinking, yuk, I have to go to work, I usually can’t wait to start my day and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
If you can not or don’t want to start your own business, consider finding a job where you enjoy the people you work with where you are happy to provide a service to customers that you also enjoy, those jobs are out there, at least we should keep trying to find one.My criteria were straightforward, I have always wanted to work with customers, colleagues, and suppliers that could easily be my friends, and most of them have become just that, this way, work never feels like work, it’s worth a try,
